Salary: $48,000-$54,000 / year

An exciting opportunity exists at Raylec Power LP for a motivated Project Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time position based out of our Duke Point office in the Nanaimo, BC and will report to the General Manager.

Raylec Power is a versatile electrical contractor specializing in construction, complex system installations, and a wide range of maintenance services. For over thirty years, Raylec Power has been serving commercial and industrial customers on Vancouver Island and throughout British Columbia. In 2012, Raylec Power joined the Mainroad Group, enhancing synergies with Mainroad’s Vancouver Island and Lower Mainland-based companies.

The successful candidate shall have the following skills/qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) and Adobe.
  • Basic knowledge of traffic management regulations and best practices, specifically the Traffic Management Manual for work on Roadways (preferred).
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collectively as a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing role and project requirements.
  • Self-driven and motivated to complete tasks on time.
  • Willingness to take both internal and external training based on job requirements/tasks.
  • Adaptability and a growth mindset to evolve with the role.
  • Potential work travel around Vancouver Island (worksites/office locations).

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in designing and developing traffic management plans (through use of Invarion Rapid Plan software).
  • Collaborate with the Safety Advisor and project teams to incorporate project-specific requirements into traffic management designs.
  • Ensure all traffic control measures meet regulations and safety standards.
  • Plan and coordinate the deployment of traffic control subcontractors.
  • Provide on-site guidance and coaching to workers on traffic control requirements.
  • Educate project managers and workers on proper traffic control layouts and their implementation in the field.
  • Maintain organized records of traffic management plans and permit-related documents.
  • Assist in preparing reports on the status of traffic control permits and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff to streamline workflow and ensure efficiency.
