Salary: $32-$34.50 / hour

SPR Traffic Services LP (“SPR”) has an exciting opportunity for Field Supervisors to join our growing team as we expand to the Lower Mainland! SPR joined the Mainroad Group of companies in 2008, which allowed SPR to develop into the traffic management provider that it is today, specializing in infrastructure maintenance, vegetation control and traffic management.

These are full-time positions with opportunities for career growth and are based out of our offices in Port Kells, BC.

The successful candidate shall have the following qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Completion of post-secondary diploma, or degree in business administration, or a related field is an asset
  • Prior dispatch experience (i.e. traffic control, construction, transportation, e-comm) is an asset
  • Strong leadership, organizational and administrative skills
  • Learning agility and willing to continually learn and develop
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Recognized for positive outlook and enthusiastic attitude
  • Demonstrates a conscientious mindset – Committed to doing the best job possible within a given deadline.
  • Safety conscious
  • Willing to work in all weather conditions
  • Able to work within a team environment
  • Strong proficiency in computer systems and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Sound understanding of accounts payable cycle and basic accounting knowledge is an asset

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Receives dispatches and schedules work accordingly.
  • Provides leadership to direct reports; in job performance, compliance, and according to WorkSafe requirements.
  • Working alongside and leading a crew of up to five to six (5 – 6) employees in general labour duties consisting of: traffic control, vegetation control, landscape maintenance, infrastructure maintenance, and various other labour-type projects
  • Ensuring your team has the correct knowledge/skills, training, tools, and supervision necessary to successfully perform their duties
  • Continuously monitoring operations with senior managers to identify opportunities for improvement and successes
  • Ensuring team members meet deadlines and productivity measures for key projects and tasks
  • Provide training and mentorship for new and existing employees
  • Keep team up to speed on policies and procedures, as well as Job Standards and expectations
