Mainroad Alberta Contracting LP is seeking a dedicated Equipment Operator to join our expanding team! In this position, you will play a vital role in civil infrastructure maintenance. This position is based out of Red Deer, Alberta, and will report to the Foreman.

What you bring:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Class 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement and a clean abstract.
- Previous equipment operating and physical labour experience.
- Experience operating highway maintenance/snow removal equipment is an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations.
- Ability to work shifts, call-outs, weekends, and overtime.
- Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Capable of performing heavy physical labour.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Positive attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Safety-conscious, dedicated, and committed.
This role involves a range of job duties, which include, but are not limited to:
- Snow removal and winter operations.
- Traffic control, emergency responses, highway surface maintenance, right-of-way maintenance, highway patrolling, shoulder maintenance/grading, plowing, sanding/salting, drainage maintenance.
- Roadside turnout maintenance, garbage pick up, bridge washing and maintenance.
- Highway Patrol and emergency response, grading and dust control on gravel roads.
- Re-gravelling, mowing of vegetation, road surface maintenance, roadside barrier maintenance and repairs.
- Pavement marking, sign installation and repairs.
- Maintenance of equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are properly serviced and equipped.
- Investigation and recording of equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Ensuring all materials and tools are properly secured.
- Attending incidents/accidents to ensure public safety.
