Mainroad Group, a leader in BC’s highway maintenance industry for over 30 years, is currently experiencing rapid growth. We are seeking exceptional individuals who are dedicated to ensuring safe and reliable highways. Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting LP is currently looking for a full-time Road Maintenance Worker to join the Fairmont crew.
Crew members must have the ability to work shift work that may include graveyard shifts in the winter season. They will be responsible for operating and driving equipment such as trimmers and tractors during summer maintenance activities.
What you bring:
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake endorsement with a clean driver’s abstract
- A proficiency in truck driving, loader operation, and experience with manual transmission vehicles
- A willingness to work in all weather conditions
- Previous experience in construction and/or highway maintenance is an asset
- A mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new skills
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prioritizes safety in all aspects of the job, adhering to safety protocols and promoting a safe work environment
This role involves a range of job duties, which include, but are not limited to:
- Operating and driving equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and tractors during summer maintenance activities
- Clear litter, debris, and roadkill as necessary
- Maintain accurate records of work performed
